Clara Shorts Video Sew Along

The Clara shorts are a classic bermuda length design. They feature:

  • pleats, slant pockets a flapped fob pocket in the front

  • darts and jetted pockets in the back

  • zip fly, extended waistband and belt loops

  • turned up hem

The construction includes techniques for a professional finish, such as:

  • hand basting

  • french seams

  • facings in the pockets

  • narrow and flat jetted pockets

  • understitching

  • bound waistband facing

  • a video sew-along here.

This pattern includes European sizes 34 to 56, and can be sewn in light to mediumweight woven fabrics, with no stretch, such as linen, poplin, cotton twill, suiting, fine wale corduroy. You can find suggestions for fabrics in this blog post.
