Clara shorts for women

Meet the Clara shorts pattern for women, in sizes 34 to 56 (European).

With this pattern you’ll learn techniques for a professional finish, such as:

• hand basting

• french seams

• facings in the pockets

• narrow and flat jetted pockets

• installing a zip fly

• understitching

• bound waistband facing

The Chloe pants are a classic bermuda length design. The design features:

• pleats, slant pockets a flapped fob pocket in the front

• darts and jetted pockets in the back

• zip fly, extended waistband and belt loops

• turned up hem

During the design and testing processes I made several pairs for myself in linen and poplin. The ideal fabrics for this pattern are medium-weight woven with no stretch, such as linen, poplin, cotton twill, suiting, fine wale corduroy.

I had the help of Diana Oliveira, Judit Mecsei, Nathalie Justice, Vicky and Tori Hall during the pattern test to make sure that the pattern fits well, and they made beautiful shorts.
