Hi, I'm Susana.

I'm mother to a boy and a girl, and HR Expert turned Pattern Designer. Suco by Susana was born from a passion that I discovered without expecting to, paired with my professional life circumstances at that time. I first started sewing in 2015, completely by accident. After working in the corporate world for 15 years, I suddenly found myself unemployed, with a lot of free time on my hands, and searching for a new direction to my life.

One day, while reading a sewing magazine, I decided to take some classes to learn how to sew clothes for myself and my children. Just as a hobby. I didn't know if I would like it, or if I would be any good at it, but I wanted to try. I took classes in some schools and sewing stores in Lisbon and I loved it! In no time I was making clothes that I had never even imagined that I could ever make. The first things that I made were a dress and blouse for my little girl, and I haven't stopped since.

I started making all my clothes and my children’s clothes, and went on to take a pattern design course (Pattern Workshop) in order to create my own designs. I decided to start Suco by Susana and dedicate myself full time to building my business.

In Autumn 2016 I released my first original pdf sewing pattern designed entirely by myself, and Suco by Susana became the first independent sewing pattern brand in Portugal. Sometime later I started making my own lingerie, and teaching sewing classes and workshops.

Clothes that your kids will love to wear, and that you will enjoy sewing.
