Project Smooth Sorbet sewing
Here is what I sewed for my latest collaboration with Project Run & Play, for the Project Smooth Sorbet collection. I designed the Fragola pattern for the collection, that goes beautifully with all the other patterns, so I had to sew a mini capsule wardrobe for my daughter.
I Love Kutchi is one of my favorite fabric shops in Portugal, and they kindly provided me with a beautiful mix of fabrics for my makes.
Starting with the Fragola, I sewed two tops (one in cotton poplin and one in yellow plumetti) and two dresses (one in seersucker and one in striped double gauze). My daughter helped choose the fabrics and the options, some sleeveless and some with the ruffle sleeve. The dresses are already her favorite and I can see her wearing them a lot this summer.
To wear with the top version of the Fragola I made her two shorts from the Limone lounge set. The shorts were a super fast sew, fit her perfectly and the outside pockets and waist tie are a cute detail. I chose linen from I love Kutchi for both shorts, one pink and one blue. I made the inside of the pockets with a contrasting fabric as well as the waist tie, using the leftovers from the dresses and the tops.
To pair with the shorts I also sewed a Parfait polo. I had never sewn a polo shirt and this went super easy thanks to the great instructions in the pattern. I loved making the collar, placket and hem side vents. I used a cotton jersey with a flowers print also from I Love Kutchi, that goes beautifully with both the pink and the blue shorts. After all, this is a mini capsule wardrobe, right? So all garments match with each other.
I'm still going to make some more pieces from this collection for my daughter starting with the Sorbetto swimsuit, because the patterns are amazing and she'll have a wonderful summer wardrobe.
Be sure to follow along with Project Run & Play to see all the great makes from this collection and the look book coming next week!
xoxo,
Susana
